General Exam & Application Information

Once your application has been approved, you are eligible to take the written examination. Candidates, who are unsuccessful in passing, automatically receive notices and invoices for the next examination administration, no less than three months before the examination date, provided they have not exceeded the maximum number of allowable attempts. You do not submit another application, just the fee, for succeeding attempts on the examination.

* The examination dates listed are for Thursdays. Although the expectation that these dates will be the administration dates, extenuating circumstances may require changes. Candidates should check the ABPS web site (www.abpsga.org) for the most current set of dates.

You do not submit an application for the Oral examinations, just the fee. Oral examinations are typically administered on Saturday, and sometimes on Sunday. Examinees are not permitted to take both the written and oral examinations during the same administration. Oral examinations are not required for every specialty.

EXAMINATIONS FOR ALL SPECIALTIES, EXCEPT DISASTER MEDICINE, ARE GIVEN IN ATLANTA, GEORGIA AT THE MARRIOTT ATLANTA AIRPORT HOTEL.

DATES AND LOCATIONS FOR DISASTER MEDICINE EXAMINATIONS HAVE NOT YET BEEN DETERMINED.
